Our first SHINER award!

At Potteries Active Kids, we have a tagline which we believe are good principles for us all to live and run by; kids and adults.

They are; that we want everybody to #SHINE.

We can facilitate this by;

Supporting, Helping, Inspiring, Nurturing, Encouraging

In order to encourage all children to #SHINE, we have our SHINER award for the child chosen each month as the Recipient of the coveted title!

The first winner of the award, was 9 year old Jamie from Baddeley green!

Jamie has only been running since he first started with Potteries Active Kids on 8th january this year, but so far has managed to beat his personal best every time apart from once last week!

He’s usually the first one to turn up, and is always very keen to help out everybody; the adults to set up, and also his peers to get around the course as easily as they can!  He really looks forward to Sunday mornings now and can’t wait to take his award into school to show his teachers and friends!

These are the exact qualities that we should all be encouraging in the kids of our great city, if we want to help them provide a fantastic and prosperous future for themselves, so well done all involved!!

Who will be next!!

A massive thank you to Denise O’Sullivan ceramics for designing and manufacturing these awards in her local Stoke-on-Trent studio, and for donating them to us free of charge!  A very kind and simple gesture from Denise, that allows such positivity and pleasure for our children!  Definately; #MadeWithLoveInStokeOnTrent!

Jack Dean

A massive congratulations to Jack Dean, a regular (when not playing football on a Sunday mornings) at our Milton run!!

I know you like to hear about the kids who #SHINE.

Last weekend Jack competed at the England rowing championships and won silver medal in his age group.

Give him a pat on the back and a well done when you see him next at our runs!

With the right support from us all, he could improve his potential and be somebody we’re watching on tv in a few years time!

Ben Regan

Thursday just gone Ben Participated in his first ever competitive race “Dave Clarke 5”.
His passion to run and participate has been inspired from the junior run held each Sunday.
After his race Ben then embraced one of the foundations of Potteries Active Kids & Stoke Fit, he went and supported the senior race by helping to give out 200 water bottles to the finishers of the senior race.
Big thank you to all who make this happen
